Dear Achilles,
You can plan a trip, but you cannot plan the weather.
Timing governs all.
You may prepare, move, and act perfectly, yet the opportunity may pass.
Some opportunities arrive immediately while others require patience.
Some never arrive.
I’ve observed that much of our energy is spent on what we believe can be controlled but cannot.
Effort alone does not guarantee success. A modest effort at the right time can achieve more than a great effort at the wrong time.
It seems that life tends to reward timely adjustment more than force.
The skill to master, then, is alignment. Move with the current, not against it.
I found that it is easier to ride a wave than to fight it.
Effort is light. Timing is heavy.
With Care,
Su Hawn
